About the Painting
It is spring and these Atlantic puffins are deep in conversation, gathered on a stretch of damp lava rock in Iceland. The background of this piece is unique for me, a solid phthalo blue, providing focus to the puffins and their rocky perch. The puffins have a beautiful silky appearance to their carbon black feathers, contrasting their milky white details. At this time of year, their beaks are a vibrant technicolour rainbow of cyan blue, golden yellow and cadmium red.
The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
