About the Painting
When you’re alone in nature, it can instill the sense that you’re entirely on your own. Nature is so vast and expansive, it can make you feel like you’re the only one left on the planet. This watery view illustrates a lake in Alaska and a mountain range that is covered in thick coniferous tree forests. The delicate brushstrokes and linework used indicate this was an early piece in my career. Despite the refined linework method there is no shortage of colour. This palette is concentrated in sap green and cerulean blue with highlights of titanium white and slate grey.
